commercial applications, program trading,
or black-box trading, we can provide an API that meets your
needs and help you create an efficient, transparent, equitable
marketplace.
Fortex FIX
The Financial Information eXchange (FIX) protocol is a messaging
standard developed specifically for the real-time, electronic
securities transactions. Fortex has supported FIX since 1997
and we support all version of FIX. Fortex offers a complete
set of high-performance FIX solutions for various types of
FIX connectivity:
• FIX Host
• FIX Client
• ActiveFIX
Developed in C++, Fortex FIX can function as a host to accept
orders or as clients to submit orders. Its ActiveX interface
library provides easy integration to existing applications.
More information, including the specification, can be found
at FIXProtocol.org
Fortex OCX
Fortex OCX is the underlying ActiveX element of the Fortex
Equities Plus and Foreign Exchange platforms. This comprehensive,
powerful set of APIs supports the entire trading process—from
order management to portfolio management. Using Fortex OCX,
software vendors have full control over all Fortex trading
functions, as well as the ability to customize them.
The hallmark of Fortex OCX is unmatched speed—sub-40-millisecond
round-trip trade time—even in the most strenuous trading
environments. Fortex institutional clients rely on Fortex
OCX’s superior performance in their proprietary trading
platforms, basket trading applications, and program trading
applications.
Fortex DLL
Fortex dynamic link library (DLL), a Microsoft Foundation
Class (MFC) extension DLL, encapsulates all Fortex front-end
functions and user interface implementations and provides
a seamless way to integrate third-party software with the
Fortex platform. Developers can easily plug Fortex DLL into
their own applications and implement powerful real-time direct-access
trading functionality.
Fortex-eSignal is one example of how this technology is utilized.
By integrating Fortex DLL into the eSignal 7-series, eSignal
embedded Fortex trading functionality seamlessly into its
front-end application.
Market Data API
Fortex provides two sets of APIs that supply real-time and
historical market data for server and desktop integration.
An OCX ActiveX control API provides easy integration to Microsoft
Windows-based desktop systems. A Fortex TCP/IP Server API
enables rapid integration with high-volume, high throughput
server-based pricing engines.
